Haircut vs. Shoes

I haven't had my haircut since May. Somehow a $17 haircut seems expensive and an unnecessary expense. I use Pantene shampoo and some cute clips that I already own here and there. I can get by. Besides, Kid 1 needs new shoes. When will he stop growing?

Yet my life is full of riches; blessings of happy and healthy children, a hardworking husband that loves me and a faith in God that never wavers.

Why Share My Story?

These are my thoughts, struggles, feelings and things that I have seen, experienced and learned over the course of this past year. I am hoping that others can relate and understand that the impoverished are not just uneducated and lazy. We are an educated, hardworking, middle class family with goals for our children.

I also know that my family is not alone. I know of many situations that are similar to ours. Their events are painful as well.
